Auditions

Hi everyone,

I have been quite busy this half term with homework, the bane of every teens life. So I haven't had time to post anything but after my exam tomorrow I will start working on some new stuff, however, I am organising for my Duke of Edinburgh project a group film project.

This project will consist of three trailers with the best idea being turned into a short film. As a consequence I need help! So if you are an aspiring writer, actor, musician, cameraman (or woman), or even a director and want to get involved I would love to hear from you.

My email address is kristurner1997 (at) gmail (dot) com or you can email me by clicking here which will open your preferred mailing software.

Until the next time,
Kris

I Miss You

Hiya guys my name is Jamie Martin! Before I say anything else I just want so say how happy I am to take part in Kris' blog! (KRIS: Ha! He doesn't realise its the audience who judge's the post not me!)

Before I tell you what song I have chosen and why you need to know a little bit about me. Basically I'm bisexual and I really like this guy. The song i have chosen is BLINK-182'S I Miss You. The reason I have chosen this song is because the lyrics really fit into the situation I'm in: the guy I like and I have had an argument recently that has made me feel like I don't ever want to see him again; yet that I still care about him like crazy.

To me the chorus of this song indicates mixed emotions towards someone. When the singer sings "don't waste your time on me, you're already a voice inside my head" it's as if he's telling someone that it's too late, they're nothing more to him than a memory. Then he follows with "I miss you...", as if contradicting the previous statement. It's like this person has been hurt so badly by the one he loves that he just wants to them to leave and yet all he can think about is how much he loves them.

This is why I believe that this song is the perfect song to describe my relationships and how people never really get over their previous lovers as they will always have feelings deep down for them.

So I hope that the song means as much as it does to me and you can see my point of view.

Smile

Smile: a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles near both ends of the mouth. In some cases a smile can be seen around the eyes.
That's the definition of a smile, but a smile is so much more; it's a sign of happiness, it's a sign of joy. It's contagious and its an international symbol no matter where you come from in the world people know what it is.

Yeah! I can tell you're smiling at this...

Many biologists actually think the smile originated as a sign of fear. Some Primalogist (a person who studies primates) trace the smile to over 30 million years ago of evolution to the original smile which was thought to be a "fear grin" stemming from monkeys and apes who often used barely clenched teeth to show predators that they were harmless.

Did you know that actually when I tell you to smile, it can actually be helping your mood - some scientists believe that smiling actually makes us happy. Try it, then try a frown and see if that makes you grumpy.

Which leads to another question that leaves some scientists another question: do we smile because we are happy or are we happy because we smile?

Useless Fact: Smiling is a signaling system that evolved from a need to communicate information of many different forms. One of these is advertisement of sexual interest. Female smiles are appealing to males, increasing physical attractiveness and enhancing "sex appeal. "

So this song is actually amazing but people in the UK have never really heard of it so we are going to see if we can change that the image on the right is the popularity concentration we are going to make sure that the UK turns green.

Smile,
Kris.

PS: To all my readers, have a nice holiday everybody! You're amazing!

Music

I think music is just built into humans, it can express anything: happiness, love, sadness. I think that the best artists take advantage of that because that's why I love music. It's also why I hate some music I mean sorry what's the 'ghetto' got to do with everything. I hate songs like that the songs that have no meaning.

Music can tell you a lot about a person; a good artist can just sing with just some instruments, no synthetics, no hairography just their voice. Can you imagine discovering music? There are people who imitate the way their favorite singer dresses and acts. They look up to them as role models and buy every CD by their favorite group.

I really do hate music that's not real music.

I just love the second video her introduction is just amazing. That's why I love music

Fearless

I feel like I haven't done this in ages. I really enjoyed doing this and I will release the results soon. But its the start of the March and the end of the month of music, which is a shame. But as promised I am going to write a post to.

Fear: A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.

Fearless: A lack of fear.

Well those are the official definitions but being fearless has nothing to do with having a lack of fear its about knowing that there is something more important then your fear. Fear can be about anything: telling the truth, buying a home or even asking someone out and that's why this song is so amazing.

So, its time to throw everything on the line, to have no regrets, to speak now, to get stoned (no don't do that - John you totally ruined it for me) because your future is still unwritten: It's time to be FEARLESS.

Get Stoned

Hi people of Kris' blog, as some of you may or may not know I'm from Scotland and a keen guitarist and pianist, yeah strange mix.

Yet I think both of these wonderful instruments have a great amount of uses for powerful emotional messages that artists can use to help raise awareness on subjects, a song I'm going choose for this post is a wonderful song called "Get Stoned" by a wonderful band called Hinder.

Now, I'm very much against the use of drugs, and this song really doesn't promote drug taking much at all but what I love about this song is it has such a good rhyme to it, a 'partyish' feel, and a feeling that no matter what you just gotta go on and have fun with life.

Life is a strange thing, you can spent years trying to guess what the meaning is and not come any closer, for the truth is no one really knows, whether you believe in god created it, or an evolutionist, no one really knows why life formed. Or if there truly is a meaning or not.

What I love about this song is it really can just pick you up even when life just isn't going your way. I often listen to this song and it's just one of those.songs that you can sing along with, it draws you in, offers you a glance of brilliance, of happiness, of just feeling good, that's what I believe songs are about.

It doesn't matter what songs you like, whether it's metal, pop, or even classical, if it even draws you in for a moment, if it inspires you to do great things, or just even make you feel good then the song has done its purpose.

Often, when I need a hit of inspiration, for ether school work, making a new song, or just when I feel low, a great song is all it takes to lift me up most of the time, music is just a wonderful tool.

Now this is me signing off, but I'd like to leave you a awesome quote:

"Life is like a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once. Make sure you don't regret what you brought"

John Stowe

Haha, it was a great post even if I did spend about 30minutes checking your grammar and CAPITAL LETTERS!

I would like to inform everyone that vote lines are now open click here to find out how.

Unwritten

Hi, I'm Amy. I just turned 15 (18th February 2012) and I believe that life is too short to be an emotional wreck and if your not happy you should do something about it.

This song is about being able to choose your own life and that its never too late to change it. So for this year here are my goals:

  • Get a year older
  • Don't let my GCSE's stress me out
  • Have fun and live MY life
My theory for life is that it is like a rabbit; it goes up & down and loves carrots. The carrot is the rabbits reward for going up and down and not giving up.

Don't forget your future is still unwritten.

Amy xx

PS: I love that soul choir!!!

I loved this post, sorry for not getting it up sooner and as the month is drawing to a close you will soon have the chance to vote for your favourite writer. She's going to kill me for choosing that photo.

You Belong in a Teenage Love Story

Hi guys! Happy Valentines Day!

I do sort of like Valentines Day not because you get to spend it with someone special because you should do that everyday anyways, but because you can see it. People celebrating it, whilst watching a film, whilst driving in a car. It just lets you focus on what's important.

But since its Month of Music, I tried (and failed) to make a mashup of some love songs and because its also really bad I also made a playlist of some of my favourite love songs so enjoy and even if you don't have somebody to spend Valentines day with this year: you can spend it with meeee.

PS: Happy Birthday to my friend Abi!

Speak Now

We have all had a time in our life where we wish we had spoken out and said something, but the only thing that's stopping us is the response we think we will get.

Taylor Swift's amazing talent for writing incredibly accurate lyrics has made her music so real which is what, in my opinion, makes her so attractive to her fans.

Speak Now is a song that highlights a moment in everybody's life in which they regret never speaking up to someone. It makes you think what would to happened if you had, had the courage speak up. The songs reaches out telling you that instead of keeping something locked up that you should follow your heart and if you don't get the result you wanted then at least you spoke your heart.

You will at least know you did everything you could, so be brave and Speak Now.

Much love,
Tina Vidmar xxxx

I must admit I do love this post: If it's your favourite don't forget to vote for it at the end of the month.

No Regrets

Hey guys! I want you to think as good old incy wincy spider as your inspiration in life. As weird as it may seem he has a good story. The poor 'fellah' keeps trying to climb up that water spout but then comes the rain and washes him out.

But does he give up?

NO! 'Cuz out comes the sunshine and dries up all the rain and incy wincy spider climbs the spout again. Incy never gives up and keeps fighting forward not thinking about the past but setting his own goals and heights. You never know maybe incy wincy will get to the top one day. But he has no regrets and will always keep climbing.

"Don't tell me that the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon."
Live life to the full, live it to the last breath and you won't have any regrets.

Love Gemma. X

I met a spider called Wilbert before he was sweet. I'm sure you will agree with me that was an amazing post and there is still more to come!

Perfect

Hey, hope everyone is okay. I found one of P!nk's songs on Youtube and I instantly fell in love with it. The songs name is Perfect and I chose to post the clean version because personally I prefer it so the video is safe for everyone but it can be quite upsetting and does contain scenes of self harm so if you want to listen to the song just type it on Youtube.

The song is basically about perfection being in the eye of the beholder. There are some horrible people out there that will try and cut you down at every opportunity but whatever they say you've got to ignore them. One day you'll find that one person who keeps you happy or maybe you already have. Just grab onto them and don't let go.

P!nk says the song is about accepting yourself and others. Its music video, directed by longtime collaborator Dave Meyers, delivers a controversial message against depressionself-mutilation and suicide. In November 2011, the song garnered a Grammy Awardnomination for Best Pop Solo Performance.
