The Ice & I

It's been almost two years since I started skating at Telford. I'd won a free skate at Telford Ice Rink and I was hooked. It took almost another year before I started professionally with my coach Sarah and now today I have an ice skating competition.

I learnt how to go forward, go backwards, to stop, to spin, to spin on one foot, to spiral, to jump and its all my training has come towards this one minute of skating

But just my luck though my leg hurts. But I'm still going to do this competition and I'm either going to win or I'm going to get one step closer to winning. When I go out on the ice today: It will be just me & the ice.

I'll tell you what happens.

Pessimist

You will always get those people in life who can only look at the downside of the situation because if you only expect the worst there is no disappointment.

Even though sometimes they're right, of course sometimes they'll be right the law of averages say they will be. For instance if you attempt to flip heads on a coin 5 times in a row there is a 1 in 32 chance of doing it.

Just because the odds are stacked against you doesn't mean that you can't achieve what you want to achieve - always remember that.

If I had given in to pessimist I would never have achieved the things I have achieved I would have never learnt to ice skate, I would never have wrote this blog - I would have never achieved by dreams.

PS: The team and I have a lot of great stuff coming soon to the blog including a themed February month.

Perseverance

"Never give up. And never, under any circumstances, face the facts. "
        -Ruth Gordon

Yes I know I am posting later then I normally do, but it suits my theme perfectly. About a year ago I went skating with my friends when I discovered I really enjoyed it. So I stuck at it. At first I was terrible and couldn't stand up, now I am proud to say on a good day I can do a three jump.

So what I am trying to say is that I love doing stuff that people say I shouldn't do or that I can't do, because it gives me greater satisfaction when I can shove it in there face and say I told you so. So the moral to this short post is DON'T GIVE UP.

No matter what people say or think do what you want, and do it well.

Kris.
